There are a variety of popular casino games, but this article highlights the most popular out of the multitude of games that are available.
Craps
In Craps, the game’s players all take turns rolling the dice. The turns go clockwise around the craps table. The player who is rolling is commonly called “the shooter.” After being given the dice, the shooter’s first roll during the game is called his or her “Come Out.” The come out roll starts a new streak of rolls by the current shooter because a shooter can keep rolling as long as he or she keeps winning his or her rolls. It is only after their roll fails to produce a win that the dice are given to the next player at the table. Basically, the idea of the game of Craps is to establish a main number, called a “point.” Then you want to keep rolling that number. If you roll another number or a seven, your turn is over. The number seven is called “craps” and is how the game got its name. It sounds easy enough but only certain numbers (4,5,6,8,9,10) can be point numbers. Craps payoffs are based upon the number combination that is displayed when the dice stop rolling.
Roulette
Roulette is a very simple game. The game’s dealer spins a roulette wheel in a counter clock-wise direction. While the wheel is spinning, white ball bounces around the wheel. The ball bounces in the opposite direction of the spinning wheel until it comes to rest in one of the 38 slots on the wheel. This is slot holds the winning number of the round. A player wins or loses based on where his or her bets are located on the table.
Blackjack
Blackjack is one of the most popular table games in casinos. Its popularity might be because it is one of the easiest games to play (this is because the rules are incredibly simple). Blackjack is different from other casino games in that its based upon what is called the “dependant trial process.” That means that the odds of winning aren’t consistent from one hand to another. The hand’s odds depend on the cards that were dealt in hands that have already been played. If you play blackjack by the rule book, the odds of winning are around 50/50, which is better than with any other casino game. When playing blackjack the players make their game decisions after they place their bets instead of before the bets are placed (like other games). Because of this, the game gives its most skillful players a better chance of winning.
Keno
Keno is a matching game kind of like bingo and the lottery but faster with typically much smaller payouts. The most commonly played version of Keno there is a ticket (also called a bank) that has eighty numbers on (in) it. They are printed in eight rows of ten numbers each. The player picks fifteen of the eighty numbers. Typically these numbers are marked on the ticket by a casino provided crayon. After determining your bet, you can turn the ticket in either a keno runner, writer or simpy into the Keno booth. After the bets are placed, the house picks twenty numbers from the eighty numbers that are available. They do this by picking out ping pong balls that are emblazoned with the available numbers. The ping pong balls are twirled in a cage or a clear plastic container. As each numbered ball is picked from the bunch, the number is highlighted electronically on Keno boards in the casino.
